"Experience Bishops"

We will be opening the College to prospective students in their Grade 7 year and their parents on Friday 2nd March 2018 in order to give them a clear idea of what Bishops stands for and offers as an option. This will involve boys attending classes and seeing for themselves the many innovations and facilities at Bishops, and meeting key people on the academic staff. Should your son wish to attend, he will need to register for the day. Please contact Mrs Rosemary Wilke on (021) 659 1043 or rwilke@bishops.org.za for further information.

Please note that attendance at this event does not constitute registration - the online application form and exam entry form have to be completed in order for your son to be registered.

Examination Subjects

Friday 4th May
ENGLISH 60 mins (commencing 08h30)
SCIENCE 60 mins

The purpose of the exams is to assess each candidate's natural potential . For the most part questions will be based on topics as stipulated by the Education Department for Grade 6 and 7, but the exams will not necessarily be based around specific content. It is also expected that the best candidates will have accumulated some knowledge beyond that which is included in formal syllabuses, not in technical detail but in broad sweeps.

We do not anticipate that learners will be prepared specifically for these exams, and questions will in essence be designed to circumvent any focused preparation so that we can assess the innate abilities of the learners themselves.

If you wish your son to write the Scholarship examination, please request an entry form from the Admissions Office, to be returned to the above address together with an examination fee of R350, by no later than Wednesday 25th April.

All candidates will be informed in writing by the first week of June as to whether or not they have been successful (we regret individual results are not made available).
