Dear College Parents

It has been a particularly long and busy term and I am sure that all the boys and staff are looking forward to a well-earned break. Many of our boys are involved in holiday activities and we wish them well:

  • The 1st and U16 hockey teams are going on tour to Holland to participate in a festival and some coaching clinics;
  • The 1st, 2nd, U16A, U15A and U14A rugby teams are travelling to Grahamstown this weekend for fixtures against St Andrews and Kingswood;
  • The U14A hockey team is playing in Somerset College Festival from 31st March - 3rd April and ISHF at York from 13th - 16th April;
  • The U16 hockey team is playing in the York Festival from 6th - 9th April in George;
  • Four of our public speakers, Nikolaos Tapanlis, Mac Cheminais, Gabriel Makin and Nicholas Peile will be representing the South African Team at the World Championships in Sydney.
James Shuttleworth Grade 11 Kidd House, has been involved in the following project since the tragic outbreak of the Imizamo Yethu fires. Everyone has been focusing on the people who were affected by it, but the animals have indeed been hit too. Please do have a look at the link of the organization that James has been involved in and see if you can help – www.givengain.com/cc/darg

I visited Christian Rohrer in hospital on Tuesday afternoon and I am pleased to report that he is doing well and is in good spirits. He is looking strong and is tolerating the chemo well with minimal side effects. He has commenced the 2nd cycle of treatment after which he has a two week break and resumes treatment on 18th April. We all continue to hold Christian and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Please see the attached Assembly notices for some excellent achievements by our boys - a wonderful way to end the term.

Mr Graham Robertson goes on long leave next term and we wish him well.

I would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday and a Blessed Easter with your families.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours sincerely

Guy Pearson
