Dear Parents

"I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion." Alexander the Great

I would like to encourage you all to support the Music Food and Wine Festival this evening organised by our PA. They have worked very hard for months on this event and we are looking forward to a wonderful evening. There is great music, food and wine to enjoy, and most importantly the opportunity for the Bishops Family to socialize across Grades and Houses.

Over the past week I have again been so proud of the performances and contributions of our boys across the board. We have had splendid sports results and the performances of our boys in the Royal Schools of Music exams have been truly exceptional. On an individual level the achievements of Michael Houlie at the African Junior Swimming Championships in Cairo were magnificent. Please take a look at the attached Assembly notices and celebrate these wonderful achievements.

The Matric Exams are well underway and the reports from our boys have been positive thus far. The Matric Art Exhibition will be opened this evening in the Memorial Theatre at 6 pm and will be on display in the Old Gym.

It has become traditional for the incoming Head Boy to address the school soon after his appointment. This morning our Head Boy for 2016, Francois Stassen, set out the vision which he has for the school in the next year. I have included Francois’s speech as I am sure all parents will be interested in what he had to say.

We have a busy weekend ahead - in addition to the Music, Food and Wine Festival we have cricket against Wynberg and Water polo against SACS, good luck to all our teams.

Yours sincerely
Guy Pearson
