"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" - Nelson Mandela

In 2015 we piloted “The Extra Term Initiative” with the objective of a family or friend of Bishops paying an extra term’s school fees for a boy from a less privileged background.

The initiative saw each family’s commitment to paying the “Extra Term” for the duration of a boy’s College career at Bishops. This would allow four families to provide a disadvantaged child with an opportunity to attend Bishops - one he would otherwise not be able to afford.

Thanks to the generosity of several parents to date, this initiative has enabled us to enrol eight boys in 2016. We are hopeful that, with the assistance of parents, ODs and corporates wishing to become involved, we will be able to finance bursaries for an additional ten boys in 2017 and every year going forward. This tax deductible gift will provide a life changing opportunity for a boy; a boy who will be raised with the Bishops ethos of “Inspiring Individuals”.

The Bishops Trust is a registered PBO and we are authorized to provide Section 18A tax exemption certificates for these payments.

As a bursary is a very personal gift, we will also offer you mentorship opportunities with the beneficiary. This will be optional and a meeting will be held at the school to discuss and establish guidelines.

The fees for 2016 are as follows:
