Dear College Parents

We have had a good start to the term and I am particularly pleased with the way in which the new Grade 8 boys have settled in. On Wednesday evening we had a Welcoming Service in the Memorial Chapel at which the Grade 8s were formally inducted into the school. This is an important ‘rite of passage’ which marks the transition from one stage to the next. My thanks to all the staff and mentors who have helped the new boys settle so well.

This is a particularly busy time for the boys as they juggle the demands of their commitment to the athletics programme in addition to their normal winter sports. Yesterday we had a most enjoyable inter-house relay sports competition which was won by Mallett House.

You will see in the Assembly Notices that some of our Matrics from last year performed superbly to be placed in the top ten in the Province in their subject. In total 15 boys were placed in the top ten, a great achievement considering that 53 700 pupils wrote the NSC in the Western Cape.

I would like to remind day boy parents that they are able to order a hot meal for their sons at the day boy dining hall. Please see the attached order form.
