Dear College Parents

I trust that you all had a wonderful Easter break. It was a very busy time for many members of the Bishops Community:
  • Nine boys accompanied Mr Hyslop on a cultural tour to Europe.
  • Mr Mitchell and Mr Kruger lead a group of 9 Bishops boys and 8 Bishops parents on a hike to Everest Base Camp.
  • Matt Perrott and Cal Tait rode 600 kms from Cape Town to Knysna in aid of “Riding for Rhinos”.
  • Mr Glanvill led a group of Bishops boys on the White Rhino trail in the Umfolozi Game Reserve.
  • The 1st XI Hockey and 1st XV Rugby teams participated in the St Stithians Easter Festival.
  • Several boys were involved in Water Polo at a national level.
Please see the Assembly Announcements for full reports on these activities. It is a wonderful reminder of the amazing opportunities afforded the boys at Bishops.

The 2nd term is always very challenging for the boys as they enter the Winter Sports programme and prepare for mid-year exams and the Eisteddfod. You will see from my message to the boys in assembly today what my personal and the school’s philosophy is around sport. I would appeal to all parents to support our boys in a positive and constructive manner. There is no doubt that sport in the Western Cape at school level is the strongest in the country, and so we need your support and encouragement as the boy’s face the challenges which lie ahead.

Yours sincerely
Guy Pearson
