Why has Bishops launched the 175 Campaign?

Bishops, like most independent schools, is asking parents, friends, and community members to support the school with tax-deductible financial donations to the Bishops Trust.

Why does the school need more money if parents already pay tuition fees?

The tuition fees cover operational costs, mainly staff salaries. However, additional funds are needed for upgrades and infrastructure.

Why not cover project costs through loans?

A loan would require a 40% fee increase, placing parents under financial stress. Fundraising ensures tax-deductible gifts for these projects.

Does donating to Bishops take away from those in need in South Africa?

Bishops supports disadvantaged communities through outreach. Donations also provide bursaries to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Are the proposed projects of the 175 Campaign necessary?

The Masterplan addresses space needs, such as new Life Science classrooms, for current and future students.

Who should contribute to the 175 Campaign?

We encourage the entire Bishops community to contribute according to their means.

Does my participation matter if my gift is small?

No amount is too small. Every contribution helps secure the future of Bishops.

Can I set up a monthly stop order instead of a debit order?

Yes, you can set up a stop order through your bank to control the donation amount and timeframe.

Is the goal of R175 million the end of fundraising?

No. Bishops aims to establish a culture of giving to ensure long-term financial security.
