The Bishops Council requires a non-refundable placement fee for all entrants to the school. This is a family fee, paid only for the first member of each family to enter the school. Special arrangements have been made for parents who already have sons in the school on the refundable deposit scheme, to convert the refundable deposit into the family placement fee. Council has specified that the placement fees be directed to an endowed fund (called the Staff Salary Augmentation Fund) which will enable Bishops to attract and reward academic staff of the highest calibre. The Fund started in April 2008.
The fee for entry to Grades 2 to 10 for 2010 is R17 000. Payment of the placement fees for Grades R and 1 are staggered and the fees for Grades 11 and 12 are on a pro rata basis. The placement fee will be forfeited if a place has been accepted and the parent withdraws the pupil before he has taken up his place at the school.
Please be advised that where a parent lives outside the borders of South Africa, and where the boy will be a boarder at the College or the Prep, then in addition to the non-refundable placement fee of R17 000, a further refundable amount of R11 500 at the College and R9 000 at the Prep (equivalent to one term’s boarding fee) is also payable as part of the placement fee.
Please note: The placement fee is payable only when a place if offered to your son in writing and not on application.
