ADMISSIONS POLICY
Bishops is an Anglican boys English-medium school.
- In accordance with the school’s Diversity and Transformation policy, preference is given to black applicants
- Preference is also given to son's of ODs and siblings
- As an Independent School the ability of parents to pay the fees is a consideration
There are a limited number of scholarships and bursaries which can be applied for (most are applicable to the College).
POINTS of ADMISSION
GRADE N
Bishops accepts boys into Grade N in the year they turn 5. There are 3 Grade N classes of 20 boys each. The Grade N admissions process begins in February. Applicants and their parents are invited to an interview with the Headmaster of the Prep and the Academic Head of the Pre-Prep. Boys are observed in social interaction with their parents and spend time at an activities table.
GRADE R
Bishops offers an additional 12 places in Grade R as each class increases to 24 boys. The same interview process as for Grade N is followed.
Entry into other Grades at the Prep and Pre-Prep is subject to vacancies and will follow an interview and assessment process.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Complete the online application form
- Pay the registration fee via PayFast - payment options include credit/debit cards, InstantEFT, Snapscan and Zapper
- Please email a copy of your son's birth certificate to prepadmissions@bishops.org.za
Once your application form has been submitted and the registration fee paid, you will receive an email confirming your son's registration for Bishops.

GUIDED TOUR of the PRE-PREP
Please join us for a guided school tour. Tours are conducted on Wednesday mornings during the school term. Booking is essential.
Our Pre-Prep campus (Grades N - 2) is in Sandown Road, Rondebosch. Parking is available in the parking area off Sandown Road. Guided tours leave from the Pre-Prep Reception area at 09h30.
