Bishops Intermediate Phase Internship commencing April 2026


Bishops Prep invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time intern teacher. This role is for a 3rd or 4th-year student currently completing a Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or Honours degree through a recognised distance learning institution.

Deputy Head Sport


Bishops is seeking the services of a dynamic educator to lead and direct a current, comprehensive and diverse sporting programme aligned with the overall strategic objectives, to offer a world class educational experience

The role of sport is an integral part of developing the "gentleman, scholar and athlete" and for providing a platform for participation and recognition of all skill levels.

Reporting to the Principal, the Deputy Head Sport will be expected to provide leadership and oversight of all sporting activities in accordance with the schools ethos and traditions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Council, staff, boys, parents, alumni and colleagues of all levels.
  • Play a major role under the direction of the Principal in formulating the aims and objectives of the School and monitor progress towards their achievement.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to boys, staff and parents to provide a positive sporting culture and ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Be an active and valuable member of the College Executive team
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all boys involved in sport
  • Manage sports facilities, equipment and budgets with diligence and care
  • Represent the School appropriately at inter-school fixtures and official engagements
  • Teach a lesser academic load in a chosen field.

  • A passion for sports of all kinds, understanding the importance of physical development of boys at school
  • Sound understanding of financial/budget management.

Experience and skills required:

  • A proven track record of senior leadership and management within an independent/boys school
  • Proven experience in sports leadership within a school environment
  • A clear understanding of the role of sport in the education and formation of boys
  • A recognized post graduate teaching qualification and SACE registration is essential.

Part-Time Piano Teacher & Organist


The Bishops Music Department is a large, vibrant and energetic department which offers a wide-ranging and holistic musical experience to boys from Grade R to Grade Twelve.

Due to growing subject numbers, the College Music Department is looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic part-time Piano teacher (11-12 hours per week) and Organist. Applicants should note the following:

  • Individual Music tuition commences at 12h30 at the College.
  • Accompanying boys for exams, eisteddfods, etc. will be a requirement.
  • Organ duties include play at weekly chapel services on a Monday & Thursday (07h45-08h10), Hymn Practice on a Wednesday (07h45-008h10), and Boarders Chapel on a Sunday (18h30), as well as ad-hoc Chapel services from time to time.

The successful applicant should ideally be available to commence work from 1 April 2026, but this is negotiable.
