Foundation Phase Teaching Post


We are seeking the services of a dynamic, hardworking and flexible individual to join our Pre-Prep team.

The Headmaster invites applications for the following position effective from January 2020.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be qualified and have suitable experience in teaching at Foundation Phase level
  • Have experience in the integration of technology in teaching and learning
  • Show vision, innovation and motivation in designing learning programmes and in classroom teaching
  • Be able to fully participate in the Pre-Prep extra-mural programme
  • Be able to work both independently and effectively as a member of a team dedicated to the development and care of all pupils
  • Have an enthusiastic, energetic and creative approach to teaching
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Be a South African Citizen and a member of SACE

Grade N Teaching Post (4 – 5 year olds)

  • Be able to fully participate in the Pre-Prep extra-mural programme
  • Be able to work both independently and effectively as a member of a team dedicated to the development and care of all pupils
  • Have an enthusiastic, energetic and creative approach to teaching
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Be a South African Citizen and a member of SACE

Bishops Pre-Prep Internship


An exciting opportunity exists for someone with a desire to teach and learn, whilst studying towards a qualification through UNISA. This position commences January 2020.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a matric endorsement
  • Be studying a BEd (foundation phase) through UNISA
  • Have a passion for working with young children
  • Be able to contribute to the schools extra-mural programme
  • Have the ability to work cooperatively and be part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be required to carry out a range of duties within the school. In return, a stipend will be paid and the school will cover these costs of tuition, books and study materials
  • Be mentored by highly regarded teaching staff at Bishops Pre-Prep

Internships


An exciting opportunity exists for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to be part of the Bishops family, serve as a role model for learners and have practical exposure in their chosen field.

An applicant must:

  • Have a degree with English or Maths as teaching subjects and be committed to registering for a post graduate secondary education certificate in 2020 or already qualified
  • Be able to offer at least two co-curricular skills
  • Be a South African citizen

Qualities and skills:

  • Be required to carry out a range of duties within the school and assist with either sporting or cultural activities. In return, a stipend will be paid and the school will cover the costs of tuition, books and study materials
  • Limited free board and lodging may be available in one of our boarding houses
  • Please note that registration needs to be completed by mid-September. It is the responsibility of interns to organise this themselves. (Newly qualified teachers welcome to apply)
