Please note, if he has applied previously to the school he is already on the waiting list, so please do not re-apply. You are welcome to verify his registration with the Admissions Office.

Entries for the examination will close on Thursday 1st February 2024.

Experience Bishops

We will be opening the College to prospective students in their Grade 7 year and their parents on Friday 26th January 2024 in order to give them a clear idea of what Bishops stands for and offers as an option. This will involve boys attending classes and seeing for themselves the many innovations and facilities at Bishops, and meeting key people on the academic staff. Should your son wish to attend, please register for the day here.

Please note that attendance at this event does not constitute registration - the online application form and exam entry form have to be completed in order for your son to be considered for admission.

Academic Scholarships

A limited number of academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of performance in the Entrance Examination.

Awards:

  • The Bishops Scholarship & Theron Scholarship worth up to 50% of tuition fees;
  • Other scholarships ranging from 20% - 33% of tuition fees.
  • The Hoffman Stempel Bursary, awarded each year to the son of an OD who is a talented all-rounder and who has performed well in the Entrance Exam. Financial need will also be taken into account for this award.

Conditions:

These scholarships are awarded on academic performance only, except that for the Bishops Scholarship qualities such as character, leadership potential, cultural and sporting ability are also taken into consideration.

All awards are for the scholar's whole career at Bishops up to Grade 12, provided conduct and industry are satisfactory. The right not to make awards, or awards to the full amounts stated, in any year, is reserved.

Successful candidates will be informed in writing by 18th March 2024 (we regret individual results are not made available).
