All boys who have registered for Grade 8 at Bishops will be invited via email and the Bishops website to sit the Entrance Examination (in English and Mathematics) in February of their Grade 7 year. An examination fee is charged.

Candidates from schools other than Bishops Prep and Western Province Prep School write the exams in the Mallett Centre at Bishops. It is possible for candidates at schools further afield to make special arrangements to write the examinations at their own schools.

On the basis of results obtained here, as well as possible interviews and further reports from the Prep schools, offers of place are made in April. Parents of successful candidates have to sign an 'Acceptance of Place' form and pay a non-refundable placement fee to secure their son's place in the College.
